Hot off the presses and on five magazine racks across campus is the new late Fall edition of the Alumni Gazette.
Front and centre in this issue are stories about the value and future of volunteering in Canada, featuring University Students’ Council President Stephen Lecce on the cover.
Other features include a Toronto dermatology clinic run by alumni who offer free cosmetic surgery to victims of domestic violence; alumnus Eddie Francis’ journey from being a student at Western to Mayor of Windsor, and a new book on the 100th anniversary of the Montreal Canadiens by alumnus D’Arcy Jenish.
Included among many more stories are the unveiling of a plaque to commemorate First World War soldiers from Western and a riveting account of an alumnus on HMS Prince of Wales that battled the infamous German battleship Bismarck in the Second World War.
Check out the online edition of the Alumni Gazette at www.alumnigazette.ca for additional special features and archives of past issues.
Racks are located in the Alumni Hall entrance, Westminster Hall lobby, University Community Centre (two locations – near Tim Hortons and The Book Store), outside Lucy’s in Somerville House and in the new Support Services Building.
