An open forum on parliamentary democracy and the role of the governor-general is set for Friday (Jan. 16) from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Moot Court Room at Western Law.
When Governor-General Michaëlle Jean prorogued Parliament last month, it raised a number of questions about the role of the governor-general and the legitimacy of a coalition government.
Leading constitutional and political experts will weigh in on the issues at the forum hosted by The University of Western Ontario Faculty of Law.
The panel features Law professors Grant Huscroft and Bradley Miller; Political Scientist Cristine de Clercy; Peter Neary, Professor Emeritus from History; and the Hon. Ron Atkey.
