From access to a journalist and comedian to a chef and author, the annual Staff & Leaders’ Conference will open the door to personal growth in the Western community.
‘Possibilities: Yours to Discover’ runs Feb. 17-20 and features speakers as well as on-campus tours of areas that are often off-limits.
The conference is held on main campus and is open to all Western staff and leaders, at no cost..
Western alumnus and Global National host Kevin Newman, comedian Brett Leake, and Food Network chef David Adjey are part of the lineup of guest speakers during reading week.
Newman (BA ’81) will share his perspectives on the changing world. He will be joined by Leake, a stand-up comedian with muscular dystrophy who has been featured on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and Adjey, acclaimed chef, author and host of the Food Network’s Restaurant Makeover.
President Paul Davenport, author and management consultant Adwoa Buahene, and Richard Ivey School of Business professor Denis Shackel will also offer keynote speeches.
The conference will commence on Feb. 17 with presentation of the Western Awards of Excellence. This award recognizes the exceptional performance of staff who exemplify the university’s aim of providing the best student experience in Canada. The conference will continue Feb. 18-20 with speakers, tours and interactive concurrent sessions.
