The Western Mustangs proved why they are the best in the West. The nationally No. 4 ranked Mustangs won the Ontario University Athletics West Final 98-66 against Windsor on home court Wednesday, March 4.
With the win, Western qualifies for the CIS national championship, the Final 8, which takes place March 13-15 at the Scotiabank Place in Ottawa.
Ottawa will host Windsor in the OUA third place game on Saturday, March 7 after losing 82-61 to Carleton in the OUA East Final. Because Carleton hosts the national championships, the host spot for the Final 8 will go to the winner of the OUA Third Place Game, while the loser could still qualify for nationals via a wild card berth, to be announced on March 8.
Western will host the No. 1 ranked Ravens in the OUA Wilson Cup final on March 7 at 2 p.m. at Alumni Hall.
Tickets for the Wilson Cup are $12 for adults, $8 for students, seniors and youth.
Mustang Sports is offering a special for faculty, staff and students. With two major varsity sports games scheduled Saturday on campus, a two-for-one offer is being made. For one price, ticket buyers get:
