At the recent Council of Ontario University Programs in Nursing Awards (COUPN), The University of Western Ontario and the Arthur Labatt Family School of Nursing were awarded with the Teaching Innovation Award and the Master’s Student Award of Excellence.
The Middlesex-London Health Unit was also awarded the Agency Recognition Award at the April 30 event.
Barbara Sinclair and team including Mary Bawden, Michele Hancock, Nancy Platt, David Reid and Chris Sanders were recognized for their work with Simulated Clinical Education (a pilot project at Western).
Master’s student Jason McCready was awarded the Master’s Student Award of Excellence. McCready exceeded the requirements of his thesis studies, exhibiting strong research skills and a commitment to advancing the profession.
The Middlesex-London Health Unit (MLHU) was also awarded the Agency recognition Award. The MLHU is a public health research and education unit that fosters the integration of applied public health research, practice, and the education of undergraduate and graduate students in the theory and practice of public health.
One example of the great work done by this agency was the participation of Western students in the community flu vaccination clinics.
