The Student Success Centre and BizInc are inviting students to turn their business idea into a reality by participating in Seed Your Startup, a business pitch competition.
On Thursday, April 12, students will present their business idea in a simulated funding meeting to a panel of successful entrepreneurs and business leaders from the community. The winning idea will receive formal mentorship and $5,000 to launch their small business in London during the summer 2012.
Sixty business plans were submitted by students; five have been selected as finalists. Each team has worked closely with business advisors at BizInc to refine their idea and polish their pitch for the final competition.
Finals are scheduled for 1:30-5 p.m. Thursday, April 12 in Mustang Lounge of the University Community Centre.
Seed Your Startup 2012 is made possible by the following community sponsors: Royal Bank of Canada, University First Class Painters, Spriet & Associates, Certified General Accountants and Sensidea Corporation.
