Megan Davey, associate professor in the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, passed away suddenly on Aug. 10.
Davey came to Western in 2004, establishing a research program focused on elucidation of mechanisms that control DNA replication.
Her success never went unnoticed as she was the recipient of a number of awards from national funding agencies and was named the Harold Johns Research Scientist Award for being the top ranked candidate in the National Cancer Institute of Canada competition.
Davey was also the coordinator for the Maud L. Menten Memorial Lecture Series that has attracted international leaders to the London community.
“We have lost a greatly valued colleague, friend and mentor. At this time, our thoughts are with Megan’s family and friends,” said David Litchfield, Professor & Chair of the Department of Biochemistry.
At this time no funeral arrangements have been announced.
