In August, 50 high school students will get a taste of the Ivey School of Business student experience as HBA Recruitment hosts two groups of high-achieving students through the Leadership Education And Development (LEAD) Global and ShadPlus programs. Students will be living in residence and taking part in a variety of activities such as case classes, team-building exercises and visits to local corporations.
As part of the organziation’s LEAD Global group, Ivey’s LEAD Global program is one of only two universities outside the United States offered by LEAD, a U.S.-based organization running summer enrichment programs. This program will bring students from across Canada and the United States to campus for two weeks. In its inaugural year, LEAD Global will focus on social enterprise and leadership in business. Students will visit the Stratford Festival as well as tour the offices of Corus Entertainment and Google in Toronto. The program also includes a variety of guest speakers including David Ciccarelli, CEO and founder of Voices.com as well as Canada’s first Google Glass explorer.
For a second year, Ivey will continue its ShadPlus program. Specifically for students who enjoyed the experience of Shad Valley, a four-week summer enrichment program where high school students spend a month living in residence at a host Canadian university campus. Reconnect with other Shad alumni this summer at the Ivey Summer Business Program, a ShadPlus opportunity. This one-week on-campus residential program will build on the leadership qualities that first drew students to Shad.
