Western’s Campus Community Police Service has issued a warning about a series of vehicle break-ins across campus in recent weeks.
Starting in March, and continuing into April, campus police have investigated a number of thefts from vehicles. Thieves are targeting electronics visual from outside the car. Although the incidents can happen anywhere, police are taking special note of two campus parking lots, in particular – Thompson Arena and the Ivey School of Business.
Police are encouraging members of the Western community parking in any lot to take valuables with them, especially hardware like electronics. If valuables must stay in the car, do not leave them visible. Instead, secure the items in the trunk.
Also, if you see any suspicious activity, call campus police immediately at (519)-661-3300 or 911 from a campus telephone.
