Operafest 2014 takes to the stage Saturday and Sunday, May 24 and 25, with student performances from the Don Wright Faculty of Music’s Canadian Operatic Arts Academy.
With scenes from old and new operas, those that inspired movies and musicals, and those banned for being to risque originally, there is something for everyone this weekend at the Paul Davenport Theatre in Talbot College.
In addition to Western students, others from around the world comprise the academy including students from Quebec, Alberta, China, Brazil and Colombia.
Performances begin at 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday. The event is free and open to the public.
