UWOFA awards annual scholarships to outstanding students

Brillion, a student in the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, received the faculty’s Dentistry award. More than 30 other students from across all 11 faculties received faculty-specific scholarships last week in the Great Hall.

The University of Western Ontario Faculty Association (UWOFA) handed out the association’s annual scholarships Wednesday to outstanding students from across all 11 faculties. These awards are funded by UWOFA members, reflecting their commitment to students and to the university community. The winners included:

  • Francesco Lucia, Meagan Robinson and Helen Wilson, Arts & Humanities;
  • Ashley Goodbrand and Paula Simms, Education;
  • Mitchell Dooreleyers, Matthew Palys and Nicholas Reid, Engineering;
  • Gabriella Aber, Cassandra Dumitru, Caitlin Ryan and Raheel Sheikh, Health Sciences;
  • Alexa Chomat, Information and Media Studies;
  • Michael Barrett, Law;
  • Jason Mile, Music;
  • Jason Fernandes, Christopher Lao, Kevin Lim, Ashley Ma, Ann Naidas, Siamak Soltani (Part-time Student Scholarship) and Gloria Tao (Allan Heinicke Memorial Scholarship), Science;
  • Jessi Baer, Elizabeth Clark (W. Balderston Memorial Scholarship for History), Rainer Hilland, Jacob Hunsburger, Arwen Johns, Oliver Kanter, Jacqueline Lacchin (G. Edward Ebanks Scholarship for Sociology), Anita Rooke (Part-time Student Scholarship) and Yanan Wang, Social Science;
  • Fred Jackson, Ivey Business School;
  • Brandon Brillon, Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry;
  • Natalie Binette, Medicine (J.A.F. Stevenson Memorial Scholarship);
  • Aimee Walker, Past President’s Award – Jeff Tennant (French Studies); and
