Track and field athlete Robin Bone and basketball player Anthony Spiridis have been named the Western Mustangs Athletes of the Week.
Bone, a Business Management and Organizational Studies student from London, captured gold in the pole vault at the Can-Am Classic in Windsor on Saturday, helping the Mustangs bring home a total of 15 medals from the event. Bone’s vault of 4.13 metres set a new meet record, marking the third time in as many meets this season that she has established a new meet record.
Spiridis, a Social Sciences student from Peterborough, helped the Mustangs defeat the CIS No. 5 Windsor Lancers 85-83 in overtime last Wednesday to take sole possession of first place in the OUA West Division. Spiridis led the purple and white offence with a career-high 23 points while also grabbing five rebounds
