Don Wright Faculty of Music professor Emily Abrams Ansari won the Cambridge University Press Award at the Society for American Music’s annual conference this past month in California. Ansari’s paper, The Virtue of American Power and the Power of American Virtue: Exceptionalist Tropes in Early Cold War Musical Nationalism, received top honours for the best paper presented at the conference by a scholar working outside the United States.
