Tim Horton’s, Centre Spot to get summer facelifts

Hospitality Services facilities within the University Community Centre (UCC) are undergoing major renovations this summer, resulting in closures of some facilities and changes in hours to others, all in anticipation of a fresh-faced fall.

Starting Monday, June 29, Tim Horton’s (upper level) and the Centre Spot food court will be closed.

The Tim Horton’s will be getting a major facelift as walls will be torn down and shifted, allowing for the shop’s bakery, currently located behind the Pita Pit (on the other side of Centre Spot), to be relocated to the area which currently houses Pizza Pizza. The prep area for the Timmys team will be expanded; a third cash register will be added.

The Centre Spot will be adding a soup and salad bar. This build-your-own station will feature a selection of signature salads, fresh greens and more than 30 toppings and dressing. The station will also feature six varieties of soup daily.

However, as those facilities prepare to shut down for the summer, three facilities are reopening. Subway (upper level), a new Tim’s Express, located beside the Subway, and Tim Horton’s (lower level) will re-open on Monday, June 29.

The Tim’s Express is a self-serve kiosk, featuring coffee, tea and hot chocolate, along with standard baked goods.

Subway will be open from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Friday. Tim Horton’s on the lower level will be open from 7 a.m.- 2p.m. Monday-Friday.
