The Western Conference on Science Education opened with a bit of ‘craft time’ as attendees jumped into a pop-up maker-space Wednesday in the atrium of the Physics & Astronomy Building. Organized by UnLondon, a local startup looking to help the Forest City collaborate and use technology to tackle projects in an unconventional manner, the space included stops of hacking VCRs, making foldable microscopes, wearable electronics, among others.
The aim of the bi-annual conference is to bring together passionate faculty, students and educational staff across disciplines to focus on improvements in postsecondary science education. The conference runs until Friday.
