Nadia Potts, a former principle dancer for the National Ballet of Canada, was scheduled to teach dancing classes in Alumni Hall for a fee of $25.
Potts, who was the Artistic Director of the Dance Program at Ryerson, had performed with famous dancers such as Mikhail Baryshnikov during her career.
· Despite a morning fire, which caused $20,000 damage to the Talbot Theatre, the show, literally, went on. “Patience” by the Gilbert and Sullivan was performed on Jan. 16, 1990.
· A task force was formed to understand the extent of drug use and abuse in London and to make recommendations to prevent such actions. Jack Little, chairman of the task force, was to lead the group in finding creative solutions to prevent the spread of hard drug use in the London community.
· A 1986 Volvo sedan, featuring air conditioning and heated seats, was selling for $12,900 and was said to be in excellent condition.
· An Australian exchange opportunity was offered to students in the Faculty of Physical Education who were interested in studying at the Footscray Institute of Technology in Melbourne, Australia. Requirements included a commitment to at least two terms of study and minimally, a B+ average.
