Rajan was known for devoting his life to literature – having written one of the most influential books of Milton criticism, Paradise Lost and the Seventeenth-Century Reader – and public service in his native India. He died on Jan. 23.
As well, the flag will be at half-mast until 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 21, in memory of retired professor and chair of the Department of English, Paul Gaudet.
