UPDATED AUG. 11, 5:15 p.m. — Inbound and outbound telecommunications connection to Western has been restored. Western phones are now able to receive incoming calls from outside university lines or to make outgoing calls.
The disruption of service during business hours Tuesday was caused by a severed fibre optic cable in the Rogers Cable Communications network.
The Department of Information Technology Services will continue to monitor the situation to ensure all telecommunications at Western are functioning normally.
