Thirty Kinesiology students soon begin pedalling across France’s Touraine district, meeting up with President Emeritus Paul Davenport – a resident tour guide – who will point out highlights of the area during the annual bike trip May 1-12.
Davenport, who now resides in Tours, France, continues the annual bike tour, hitting the road alongside Professor Alan Salmoni to explore rural roads in the historic area. The trip is an activity course, an outdoor recreation offering of the kinesiology activity program instructed by Salmoni.
In addition to cycling, the multidisciplinary learning experience explores topics including kinesiology, history, geography, art, culture, literature and architecture of the Touraine district.
Among the sites of note on the trip are Musée d’Orsay, Notre Dame Cathedral, St. Sulpice Church and a Seine River boat trip. The trip culminates with a self-guided tour of Paris.
