Jeffrey Preston, a PhD candidate at The University of Western Ontario, has taken his name out of the London municipal electoral race for personal reasons.
On his campaign website, Preston, who was running for city councillor in Ward 14, says he has “recently been advised it would be in my best interest to withdraw from the campaign.”
“I cannot begin to explain how disappointed I am to step back from the election this year, but continuing into the campaign season is not realistically possible for me at this time,” he says.
Preston remains committed to making positive change in London and promises to continue offering motivational speeches, acting as an advocate and supporting community organizations such as the United Way of London & Middlesex and Friends of Meadowlily.
