Several Western Mustangs, including recent graduate Jen Cotten, brought home four medals from the 2010 Senior National Track & Field Championships in Toronto last week.
Cotten, the reigning FWP Jones Memorial Trophy co-winner, won the silver medal in the heptathlon with a personal best score of 5491 points, finishing behind Olympian Jessica Zelinka.
“It was an incredible 261 personal best point total,” says coach Vickie Croley, adding Cotten had personal bests in the 100m hurdles (13.74), 200m (24.76) and long jump (6.12m). She also finished fifth in the long jump (5.64m) and ninth in the 100mH (13.80).
Mustang Jacqueline Rennebohm and guide Simon Hodge won a pair of silver medals in the Para Women 200m (29.94) and 400m (68.24).
Incoming Mustang Taylor Stewart (London-Western) won the bronze medal in the long jump with a leap of 7.43m.
