The Ontario Youth Choir begins rehearsals Friday, Aug. 20 in the Don Wright Faculty of Music at The University of Western Ontario.
Founded by Choirs Ontario in 1971, the Ontario Youth Choir offers a unique opportunity for young singers from across the province to work with some of Canada’s outstanding choral leaders.
Every summer 40 talented young singers audition to take part in an exciting programme of rehearsals, masterclasses and voice lessons. This year, the choir will be led by internationally renowned conductor Iwan Edwards.
Following rehearsals, the choir will perform a three-concert tour.
Listen to the young singers Aug. 27 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Peter’s Basilica (196 Dufferin Ave., London). Other concerts will be held in Orillia (Aug. 28, 7:30 p.m. at St. Paul’s United Church) and Toronto (Aug. 29, 3 p.m. at Grace Church on-the-Hill).
Tickets are available at the door. The cost is $15 per person; children 12 years old and under are free.
