The Student Success Centre at The University of Western Ontario will host its annual Career Fair this week and it is estimated that nearly 2,000 job hunters will attend.
Set for 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 29 at the Western Student Recreation Centre, the fair offers current students and alumni from all of Western’s faculties an excellent networking opportunity as a number of potential employers will be in attendance to discuss employment opportunities.
Beyond career-changing connections, the interaction with employers also gives attendees a sneak peek at the latest trends in the workforce, the types of positions that will be available upon graduation and most importantly, what companies are looking for in their employees, what they have to offer and how corporate missions fit within personal goals.
Prior to attending the fair, students and alumni are encouraged to review the participant list and research organizations that will be attending. Individuals are also encouraged to come prepared with a list of potential questions for the recruiter as this is a great way to network with potential employers, showcase your skills and make a lasting impression.
