Western celebrated the close of its 2012 United Way campaign Wednesday by revealing it had raised $746,101, the largest donation ever received by the United Way of London & Middlesex.
With this total, the Western community shattered its fundraising goal of $727,000 – a number that goes up significantly each year. Last year, Western raised a then-record $716,632 for the local United Way.
Western’s President Amit Chakma and Andrew Lockie, United Way of London & Middlesex CEO, thanked the approximately 100 volunteers and 1,300 students, faculty and staff who donated and highlighted the many ways United Way helps people in region.
