Baseball player Adam Paish and lacrosse player Tenyka Snider have been named the Western Mustangs Athletes of the Week.
Paish, a third-year Graduate Studies student, led the Mustangs to a 10-3 win over the Ryerson Rams on Sunday afternoon in the first of Western’s two wins in the day’s doubleheader. The Mississauga, Ont., native threw five innings of shutout baseball against the Rams, allowing only two hits and one walk with one strike out to record his 20th career OUA victory.
Snider, a fourth-year Bachelor of Management and Organizational Studies student, from Caledon, Ont., helped Western start off the 2014 season with three straight wins as the Mustangs defeated McMaster, Guelph and Toronto on Sunday. Snider had a fantastic day for the purple and white, scoring 12 of Western’s 50 goals, including a four-goal effort in the team’s 15-10 win over the Varsity Blues that closed out the day.
