Jo-Ann Leavey, a psychologist, nurse practitioner, writer, poet, musician and pilot, was awarded an honorary Doctor of Laws, honoris causa (LLD) at the Friday afternoon session of Western’s 311th Convocation.
The Faculty of Education has received $99,000 from the Public Health Agency of Canada to inform educators about the health and safety risks associated with cannabis use, prevent problematic substance use and promote healthy choices for Canadian youth.
In recognition of his career as a scientific world leader in the study of human genomics, Dr. Stephen Scherer, GlaxoSmithKline-Canadian Institutes of Health Research Chair in Genetics and Genomics at The Hospital for Sick Children and University of Toronto, was awarded an honorary Doctor of Science, honoris causa (DSc) at the Thursday afternoon session of Western’s 311th Convocation.
