King’s University College at The University of Western Ontario will
host a dedication ceremony today (March 11) for its new Broughdale
Hall, formerly the Hebrew Day School.
More than 4,300 prospective students – basically the same number as
the undergraduate first-year class – are expected to visit The
University of Western Ontario on Saturday, March 14 for the March
Break Open House.
King’s University College at The University of Western Ontario
dedicated its new Broughdale Hall today – formerly the Hebrew Day
School – in an interfaith celebration that included London’s Jewish
community, staff and students of the London Community Hebrew Day
School and representatives of the Centre for Catholic-Jewish
Learning at King’s.
On paper, it has the recipe to be a classic. The #4 seeded Western
Mustangs taking on the #5 Ottawa Gee-Gees at the 2009 CIS Final 8
men’s basketball national tournament.
The University of Western Ontario has announced the appointment of
Kevin Wamsley as Acting Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences for
the period July 1, 2009 – June 30, 2010. Wamsley will serve during
the study leave of Jim Weese, who was recently reappointed for a
six-year term extending to June 30, 2015.
A joint initiative between The University of Western Ontario and
the Canadian Diabetes Association received a $500,000 funding boost
to support research in diabetes treatment in primary care.
The University of Western Ontario, along with The National
Association of Friendship Centres (NAFC) and Indian and Northern
Affairs Canada (INAC), are hosting the third Aboriginal Policy
Research Conference (APRC) in Ottawa this week.
With a 3-2 win over Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks on home ice March
7, The University of Western Ontario Mustangs men’s hockey team
clinched the best-of-three OUA West Final series and advance to the
national championships for the first time since the 2004-05 season.
