Western alumnus Stephen S. Poloz has been named Governor of the Bank of Canada for a seven-year term, starting June 3, Directors of the Bank of Canada announced today. Poloz, MA’79 (Economics) and PhD’82 (Economics), will succeed Mark Carney, who is leaving the Bank of Canada on June 1.
