Newsmakers 2019: JUNO Awards
The biggest stage in Canadian music was tinted purple earlier this year as Western alumni and students kicked off the 2019 Juno Awards with a once-in-a-lifetime performance.
Newsmakers 2019: High Altitude Balloon team
Supported by Western’s Institute for Earth and Space Exploration, the High Altitude Balloon (HAB) team brings together students from a dozen departments in five faculties across campus – not related to any coursework, simply for the love of science.
Newsmaker 2019: Dual Installation
For the first time in its history, Western held a simultaneous installation of a president and a chancellor, welcoming Alan Shepard as the 11th President and Vice-Chancellor and Linda Hasenfratz, BSc’89, MBA’97, LLD’19, as its 23rd Chancellor, this fall.

If Western researcher Mark Daley has his way, the Western community will not only understand those patterns, but start using data to transform the institution for the benefit of students, faculty and staff across campus.

Kalley Armstrong might justifiably boast about her pedigree – whether about her stellar hockey career with one of North America’s top college teams or as granddaughter of a Hockey Hall of Fame player. NASA threw its financial support behind project Dragonfly– a drone mission co-led by Western planetary geologist Catherine Neish – to explore Saturn’s massive moon Titan.

Dr. Andrea Sereda, BSc’03 (Microbiology/Immunology), MD’07, a family physician who practices street outreach medicine, provides care through the London Intercommunity Health Centre (LIHC).
