Western Engineering professor Luiz Fernando Capretz has been named one of 10 candidates shortlisted for this year’s Global Engineering Deans Council (GEDC) Airbus Diversity Award. The award recognizes people and projects worldwide which have encouraged students of all profiles and backgrounds to study and succeed in engineering.
Fernando Capretz’s focus is on attracting and retaining students with diverse personality types into software engineering.
Three finalists will be selected from the list of 10, and present their project at the annual GEDC conference, on Dec. 1 in Adelaide, Australia. The finalists will be announced at the IE Reinventing Higher Education conference in Madrid, Spain on Oct. 19-20.
