Warm temperatures in recent days have fueled melting that is causing some flooding on campus. It is anticipated that water levels will continue to rise slowly and peak Sunday afternoon, with the high flow of water continuing well into Monday.
Affected parking lots (Talbot, Medway and Chemistry), and some pathways have been blocked and will remain barricaded until any danger has passed. Some cars parked in the Medway Lot behind Elgin Hall have been relocated to the Huron Flats parking lot at TD Waterhouse Stadium.
Those individuals who are on campus or visiting are advised to stay away from the river and any flooded areas.
Campus Community Police Service and emergency responders are monitoring river levels and any further advisories will be posted on Western’s home page at www.uwo.ca .
