As Western’s United Way campaign rounds the corner for the homestretch, the campus community is looking for a strong finish towards meeting its goal of $550,000.
As of this week, the campaign sits at $463,787, or 84 per cent. Campaign co-chair (Staff) Malcolm Ruddock is impressed by the response from faculty, staff and retirees so far, particularly in light of the economic downturn, and is convinced Western will once again step up to make a difference in the community.
“We still have a lot of money to raise to reach our goal, but I’m encouraged by our results so far,” says Ruddock. “It’s clear that Western’s campus community understands the important role we play in supporting London’s social service agencies that help family, friends, colleagues and neighbours in their time of need.”
Western’s final fundraising tally will be announced in late January, and looks to help propel the London and Middlesex campaign in reaching its $7.3 million goal.
