Western Sociology professor Anton Allahar’s lecture, part of the Top 10 for TVO’s Big Ideas Best Lecturer Competition, is scheduled to air this Sunday (Mar. 1) at 4 p.m. on TVO (Channel 2 in London).
Recognized for his ability to present ideas with confidence and authority, along with energy and enthusiasm, Allahar’s lecture is titled entitled ‘Why is the whole world not developed?’

It’s now up to viewers to decide the winner. Beginning this weekend TVO will begin airing the Top 10 finalists on Big Ideas. Each Saturday and Sunday from February 28 to March 29, you will be able to grade a different lecturer. The voting period for each professor begins at 4:45 p.m. the day his or her lecture is broadcast until 3 p.m. the following day.
Then, from March 31 at 12:01 a.m. to April 5 at 6 p.m., you will be able to vote for any of the 10 finalists.
You’ll be able to judge each professor in three categories: confidence and authority; clarity and coherence; and energy and enthusiasm. Viewers will be able to vote for their favourite professor in the following ways:

The winning lecturer, and the winner’s school, will be awarded a $10,000 TD Insurance Meloche Monnex scholarship.
