The coming week is Diversity Week at Huron University College.
The Equity and Diversity Committee has put together a series of guest speakers, videos, panel discussions and activities designed to get students, faculty and staff thinking about our diverse community.
The schedule includes:
Monday, March 9 at 2:30 p.m. in the Huron Great Hall – showing of Western’s newly released DVD entitled Voices of Diversity
Tuesday, March 10 at noon in the International Lounge – Jennifer Mills speaks about health issues that refugees face
Tuesday, March 10 at 4 p.m. in the International Lounge – Professor Gloria Mulcahey speaks about issues that First Nations people face in today’s society
Wednesday, March 11 at 4 p.m. in V210 – a student panel will be held to discuss barriers students deal with when moving from one country to another to study.
Thursday, March 12 at 3 p.m. in the Great Hall – renowned Chinese artist Zifen Qian will speak about the differences between Western and Eastern art from the perspective of a practicing artist.
Friday, March 13 at 7:30 p.m. in the Kingsmill Room – International Coffee House.
