Professors in medicine, philosophy and politics topped undergraduate students’ list for best in the classroom over the past year as University Students’ Council handed out its yearly awards.
Winners of the 18th annual University Students’ Council Award of Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching include professors Carolyn McLeod (Philosophy), Charles Jones (Political Science), William Colby (Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry) and Peter Ferguson (Political Science).
Each year, students recognize excellence in undergraduate teaching by selecting professors who demonstrate innovative teaching methods and techniques, thus furthering the quality of education for students at Western.
Earning top marks this year were Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry’s William Colby (Microbiology & Immunology), Arts and Humanities’ Carolyn McLeod (Philosophy), and Social Science’s Peter Ferguson and Charles Jones (both Political Science).
About the double-nod to Political Science this year, Jones notes, “I guess we’ve had a lot to talk about.”
