The Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry and the Department of English in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities are pairing up for a community book club examining literature for the medically minded.
The next public book club in the four-part Physicians in Fiction series will be held Thursday, May 14 in the Ferraro Room, Westmount Library from 7-8:30 p.m. English professor Douglas Kneale and Dr. Mary Eisenhauer, Division of Emergency Medicine at Schulich, will present the book Madame Bovary by Gustave Flaubert.
The public is invited to the free events to join English professors and physicians in the discussion of medically-themed novels. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis and no pre-registration is required.
Participants are requested to read the books in advance of the events.
