The flag will be at half-mast on Friday (July 3) in memory of Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry professor Dr. Frank Rutledge.
Rutledge, 56, had 24 years of service at Western when he passed away on Tuesday.

At Western, Rutledge was Chair of the Division of Critical Care Medicine, a multidisciplinary program that provides Royal College postgraduate training in Critical Care Medicine. There is exposure to a variety of a wide variety of clinical services within the program including: trauma, major vascular, thoracic, neurological, neurosurgical, transplant and cardiac.
Rutledge was also Site Chief of the Critical Care Trauma Centre at Victoria Hospital.
He is survived by his wife Sharon, children Kiyomi, Midori, Todd and Marc, and mother Sheila. Son-in-law of Yuki Tsukamoto and the late Sakae Tsukamoto. Brother of Dr. Sheila Rutledge Harding and her husband Terry of Saskatoon; Monica McClure and her husband Brian of Whitby; and brother-in-law of Todd and Barb Tsukamoto, and Steven Tsukamoto.
He is remembered by nieces and nephews Jamie, Heather, Christie, Sarah, Eric, Charlotte, Ryan, Jake, Rae and Christian. He is predeceased by his father Stuart, his brother Bill and his nephew Ross Harding.
Visitation will be held tonight (Thursday) from7 to 9 p.m. at the Westview Funeral Chapel (709 Wonderland Road North) in London. The memorial service will be conducted at North Park Community Church (1510 Fanshawe Park Road East) in London on Friday at 3 p.m., with visitation one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, if desired, memorial donations may be made to the Critical Care Trauma Centre at the London Health Sciences Centre (Victoria Campus) or Ontario Pioneer Camp Scholarships for Campers.
