Professor emeritus Allan Gedalof is sharing 35 years of teaching wisdom with faculty and teaching assistants on Wednesday, Sept. 2 at the Fall Perspectives on Teaching conference.
Gedalof is the keynote speaker at the annual conference highlighting innovative teaching techniques and best practices. A professor of English literature, film, and popular culture, Gedalof will put his teaching career into perspective in a discussion titled ‘The Lights Still Bright in the Rear-view Mirror.’
The plenary and concurrent sessions will also cover the national survey of student engagement in enhancing student academic success; the professional writing portfolio as a tool of professional development, engagement and student agency; the use of Wimba tools; Scholarship@Western; and the rhetoric of teaching.
Western President Amit Chakma will offer the welcoming remarks.
The conference will be held in Room 40 of the Arthur & Sonia Labatt Health Sciences Building from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Registration is free and can be completed online at www.uwo.ca/tsc.
