Honing his glassblowing skills for decades, Yves Rambour has the uncanny ability to take a simple piece of glass and transform it into a complex, one-of-a-kind elaborate scientific instrument for university researchers.
As part of an occasional series, Western News is showcasing video features called Profiles of Western, which looks at several familiar and not-so-familiar people and places on campus.
The second in the series looks at Rambour, the Paris-born glassblower, who is part of the Department of Chemistry, but works closely with many other faculties and departments across campus.
Having worked at Western for almost four years, Rambour admittedly “continues to learn” on the job, despite his glassblowing experience that goes back to the tender age of 12.
This video will join a growing library of videos located on the Western’s channel on YouTube.
