Western Mustangs quarterback Michael Faulds not only led his team to a 47-0 win over the University of Toronto Saturday afternoon, but also became the all-time CIS career passing leader.
The fifth-year player finishes his career with 10,811 career yards, throwing for 550 yards (5th best outing in CIS history) in the win against the Varsity Blues.

Faulds was 39/52 with two touchdowns in just three quarters, falling just 11 yards shy of the OUA single-game mark of 567.
Faulds says it was the perfect way to end the regular season.
“It means a lot. It’s an individual award but it’s just as much a team award,” he says. “I’ve had great receivers to catch the ball, great support from all my teammates, and it’s a team effort that earns this individual award.”
Mustangs head coach Greg Marshall was proud of Faulds’ performance and his great career.
“He’s played through injury and he really deserved a chance,” says Marshall of his decision to keep Faulds in the game despite lower-body bumps and bruises. “He’s been our leader here and we were trying to throw the ball on quick plays in the third quarter to help him out.”
The Mustangs, who finish the regular season in third place (6-2), will open up the OUS quarter-finals at home against the Guelph Gryphons on Saturday, Oct. 31 at 1 p.m. at TD Waterhouse Stadium. To order tickets, visit www.westernmustangs.ca and click on the tickets tab.
