The Ontario Ginseng Innovation & Research Consortium (OGIRC), based out of the Physiology and Pharmacology Department at Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, will be holding a conference on November 6-7 at London Hall.
The focus of the conference is on “New Technologies for Ginseng Agriculture and Product Development.”
The plenary lecture will be presented by Dr. Wei Jia of the Centre for Research Excellence in Bioactive Food Components at the University of North Carolina (Greensboro). The lecture is titled “Metabolomics: Tool for Chinese Medicine Research.”
OGIRC researchers will present on new value-added products, commercialization and intellectual property issues. There will be poster presentations and highlights of the event include:
Ginseng agriculture, plant biotechnology and phytochemistry Pre-clinical studies on the health effects of ginseng use Trainee-led demonstration of ways to improve Ontario ginseng production
