The Department of History and the History Society of the University of Western Ontario are hosting a student conference titled “Making History: Challenging the Past” Nov. 6-7.
The conference offers senior undergraduate and master’s students from across Ontario, Canada and the United States the opportunity to present and discuss a course paper, undergraduate thesis, or master’s paper on topics that examine the construction and interpretation of the past.
Jonathan Vance, Canada Research Chair in Conflict and Culture, will open the conference with a keynote address. The topic of the lecture is “Spies Like Us: University Students and the Secret War in Nazi-Occupied France.”
Registration will be held from 6-7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 6 in Room 240 of the Arthur and Sonia Labatt Health Sciences Building.
It will also be an opportunity for those interested in learning more about undergraduate and graduate programs in the department to meet with prospective supervisors and colleagues.
The conference fee of $20.00 includes registration, lunch, and coffee breaks. The complete program is available at https://history.uwo.ca/events/Making%20History%20conf%20program.pdf.
