The Network in Canadian History & Environment (NiCHE) is looking for students, staff and faculty to take part in a slidecast competition to increase awareness of interesting topics in the study of history and environment.
The winning entry will win $1000, with cash prizes of $300 and $200 for runners up.
Each presentation is a video containing a five-minute speech accompanied by fifteen slides, three per minute. The subject matter is up to entrants, as long has it has something to do with history and environment.
Entrants are encouraged to enter and help spread their knowledge of environmental history and historical geography. You don’t have to be a world-class expert on your subject to put together a video.
For those who have never put together a slidecast, NiCHE has created a detailed how-to example as well as a series of helpful links on the contest website.
Submissions will appear both on the NiCHE website and on the “NiCHE Canada” YouTube channel. They can be in English or French. The deadline for submissions is Nov. 15. All entrants must be 18 years of age or older. Entries from around the world are eligible.
NiCHE is a confederation of researchers and educators working at the intersection of nature and history who seek to provide that context and make it available to fellow researchers, policy makers and the Canadian public.
