The University Students’ Council (USC) has co-ordinated a week of stress relieving activities to help students relax and unwind before the December exam cram begins.
Throughout this week (until Dec. 11), students can challenge each other to a game of Guitar Hero 3; participate in daily yoga classes; watch a Christmas classic in the University Community Centre (UCC) Lounge as part of the “Merry Movie Series” and play a pick-up game in the Gym A.
Throughout the month of December, cookies and coffee will be handed out by the Student Life Department, the Chaplain’s Office and USC board members to student studying in the UCC from 8-10 p.m.
Feel in the mood for a little music therapy? Instrumental Christmas tunes will be played softly over the PA system in the atrium.
If you feel like dancing, take a break during “Exam Jam.” Every day, beginning at 7 p.m., the UCC atrium will transform into a dance club on the hour. Music will be played for two minutes to energize sleepy students.
Those needing a bit of shut-eye during the long hours of studying can use the “crash space” in Gym B. The area will have low lighting, comfortable seating and inflatable mattresses.
Need to spend the night? From midnight to 8 a.m. students can sleep overnight in UCC Gym A. Nightly registration begins at 11 p.m.
