The month-long transit strike has come to end, as drivers and mechanics accepted the latest offer from the London Transit Commission (LTC).
By a vote of 72 per cent, ATU – Local 741 members approved the tentative, giving them wage and benefit increases of 13.2 per cent over the course of the three-year, nine-month deal.
The LTC says efforts are being made to restore transit service as quickly as possible, recognizing there will be a four to five day delay before any transit service resumes.
The delay provides the necessary time to complete required servicing and inspection of a sufficient number of buses to start-up and maintain a limited (modified) service. It is expected the return to full service will take approximately three weeks.
For details as to what the limited bus service entails, keep checking the LTC website.
