Writer-in-residence Penn Kemp is performing ecopoetry set to the tune of folk-inspired melodies by singer/songwriter Brenda McMorrow on Thursday (Jan. 21) at Brescia University College.
The Circle at Brescia University College is hosting the participatory performance of the sound opera, “Luminous Entrance: a sound opera for climate change action,” beginning at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium.

The ensemble includes dancer Ruth Douthwright and percussionist Jocelyn Drainie.
The cost is $15 for students and seniors, and $12 for the under-employed. Free parking is available.
The event also marks the launch of the DVD of Luminous Entrance. It is performed by actor Anne Anglin, Penn Kemp, Brenda McMorrow and percussionist Robert Menegoni, with sound effects by John Magyar and electroacoustic composer Chris Meloche.
Luminous Entrance was performed for Aeolian Hall’s Summer Soirée, recorded and mastered by John Magyar, with DVD design by Dennis Siren. The DVD costs $25 and is available from Pendas Productions, 525 Canterbury Road, London, N6G 2N5.
