Greig Perantinos, owner of Cool Moose Creamery and a full-time student at the Richard Ivey School of Business, has been named the student entrepreneur regional champion by charitable organization Advancing Canadian Entrepreneurship (ACE).
Perantinos will receive $1,000 and move to the final round of competition at the ACE National Exposition in Calgary on May 12. The national champion will receive $10,000 and represent Canada at the international level, the Global Student Entrepreneur Awards.
Perantinos owns and operates Cool Moose Creamery, established in 2008 in Tottenham, Ont. to serve hard ice cream and frozen yogurt. A second store opened last year in nearby Alliston, Ont.
Cool Moose has raised over $7,000 for local charities.
