The MBA program at the Richard Ivey School of Business is one of the first business school admissions offices to launch a smartphone application for iPhone and Blackberry.
The free “Ivey MBA” app download is available through the Apple Store and the Ivey MBA Mobi Site, and will allow students and prospective applicants to receive instant updates from Ivey’s social media channels.
It will push news feeds from the Ivey Business School, as well as Twitter feeds and blogs posted by both the admissions team and current Ivey MBA students. Users can also view and register for upcoming Ivey MBA events and will be able to access the Ivey MBA recruiting and admissions YouTube channel.
This “Ivey in your pocket” format will allow prospective MBA students to instantly engage with current students and the admissions team, and stay up-to-date with news and events happening at the school.
“We’re excited to provide our prospects with a tool that gives them on-the-spot information that fits into their lifestyle,” says Niki da Silva, Director of Ivey’s MBA Recruiting and Admissions. “We recognize that this is the way our audience is communicating so it’s important that we are able to give them the information they need through a channel that is relevant to them.”
The Ivey MBA App was developed by Calgary-based GazooMobile (www.gazoomobile.com), a consulting and software development company founded by Ivey MBA grad Charles Newtown-Price.
