Brescia University College Principal Colleen Hanycz is the fifth leader of a Canadian university to become a blogger.
“I look forward to engaging this way with all members of Brescia’s community, including students, alumnae, faculty and staff, and to exchanging ideas with everyone interested in women’s education, leadership, and other topics of the day,” says Hanycz.
The Weekly LEADer began as an internal communication in fall 2009 and the response has been very positive.
“I have been getting some amazing feedback about the fact that we have a weekly communication and also about what good information we have shared so far. Expanding the audience means more people will have the opportunity to get to know Brescia as Canada’s premier women’s university. And, the blog format means I can receive and respond to feedback, which I expect will be very rewarding,” Hanycz says.
The blog, available at https://bresciaweeklyleader.com, has begun as a pilot project with the first post on Friday, Feb. 26. Hanycz has committed to writing at least weekly entry until the end of April.
If the response is as favourable as it has been to the internal communication, the blog will run from September through April in the years ahead.
