Get your flags and noise makers ready for Saturday, May 8, to watch the best university football players at TD Waterhouse Stadium for the East West Bowl.
Four Western Mustangs will play in the eighth annual East-West Bowl. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
Mustangs linebacker and defensive captain John Surla, the reigning Ontario University Athletics defensive Most Valuable Player, is joined by safety and cornerback Craig Butler, guard Matthew Norman and wide receiver Zach Bull on the West roster.
The East side is comprised of student-athletes representing schools from the Atlantic and Quebec conferences, as well as from Queen’s, Ottawa and Toronto. The West squad is made up of players from Canada West and from the remaining OUA universities.
The game showcases CIS players eligible for the 2011 Canadian Football League draft.
Pat Sheahan, head coach of the reigning Vanier Cup champion Queen’s Gaels, will lead the East squad in London, while Calgary’s Blake Nill will be in charge of the West contingent.
